We ship to all 50 U.S. states and all international U.S. Military bases.

Free Shipping

Items over $75 with coupon code FS75 are eligible for free shipping within the continental U.S. (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands).

Kente cloth orders are not eligible for free shipping because our kente cloth ships directly to the customer from our manufacturing facility in Kumasi, Ghana.

Free shipping promo cannot be combined with any other coupons or promotional offers. Subject to be changed or discontinued at any time.

Processing Time

Processing time for most items is 1-3 business days. Orders placed on weekends or on holidays will be processed within the next working business days. Certain items may require additional processing and shipping time.

Please see estimated delivery date on product page, checkout screen and order confirmation to see when your item is estimated to be delivered.

Cancelling Orders

You may cancel an order within 24 hours of the order being placed, as long as your order has not been shipped.

Changing Shipping Address After Order Has Been Placed

Once an order has been placed, shipping address cannot be changed. You will need to cancel the order and place a new order. You may cancel an order within 24 hours of placing the order– if the order has not been shipped.

Once your order has been shipped out, you are responsible for the items if they are sent to the wrong address. Refunds will not be issued for items that are delivered to the wrong address if incorrect address is entered during checkout. This is because shipping carriers will not reimburse us for the products shipped or the shipping costs paid.

For this reason, we cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure that you are entering the correct address and information during checkout!

Shipping Time Frame

After processing, shipping is typically 3-5 business days within the continental United States. Shipping time may increase during holidays and peak seasons.

Kente cloth orders ship from Kumasi, Ghana via DHL Ghana Express and takes 3-5 business days for delivery after processing.

Please refer to the product page, cart page, checkout screen and order confirmation email to see when your order is estimated to be delivered.

 

Signature Deliveries

By default most orders do not require signature delivery, however, our biggest priority is to ensure that you receive your package safely. Therefore, mandatory signature delivery may be required on certain orders due to order amount, previous order issues, delivery location, etc. This simply means that though you can request “no signature delivery” on your order, the decision to uphold this request is at our discretion and the discretion of the shipping carrier.

Occasionally, the shipping carriers that we work with may also require a signature upon delivery in certain areas, if they can’t find a secure location to leave your package. There is nothing we can do about this, and it is up to the discretion of the shipping carrier. For this reason we encourage designating a secure location where you package can be left in your delivery instructions when placing your order.

If you live in an area where theft is prevalent, please request signature delivery on your order to ensure that it is delivered. Once an order has been marked delivered, even if it is left in front of your home or stolen, we cannot assume responsibility for it.

Shipping Delays

We try our best to get your order out to you as soon as possible, however, there may be occasional delays in shipments by the shipping courier due to inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. If your order is delayed by the shipping courier, please contact the shipping courier directly.

Missing Packages

Once a package has been marked delivered by the shipping carrier, even if it is left in front of your home or doorstep–we consider it delivered.

This means that if you live in an area where theft is prevalent, we strongly recommend that you add signature delivery to your order. With signature delivery, someone over the age of 18 must sign for the package in order for it to be released. You can also designate a secure location in your delivery notes where your package can be left by the shipping carrier.

If you do not receive your package, please check your tracking information and contact the postal carrier directly.

Damaged Packages

We always do our best to ensure that your order is packed securely and arrives to you intact. In the event that your package arrives to you damaged, kindly send an email to [email protected] Be sure to include the following items in your email: 

  1. Order Number (can be found on your order confirmation)
  2. Picture of damaged item(s)
  3. Picture of shipping box
  4. Description of product damage

We will need these items in order to file a claim with the shipping carrier. This also helps us and the shipping carrier to prevent future damaged shipments. Without these items included in your email, we will not be able to issue you a replacement or a refund.

Once we receive your email, we will ship out a replacement of your item(s) to you. If the item is sold out, you will receive a full refund of your order. 

We only ship out a replacement once. If your replacement package is also damaged, we will not be able to send out another replacement. You will need to file a claim directly with the shipping carrier for a refund.

Chargebacks & Fraudulent Orders

The safety and security of our customers’ information and payment methods is of our highest concern. If we receive a chargeback from your bank for any reason, an investigation will be launched and you will be immediately banned from using this site. No exceptions. 

For this reason, we strongly suggest that if you have an issue with your order, you contact us immediately to get the issue resolved as opposed to filing a chargeback claim with your bank. 

Users banned from EthnicDistrict.com will not have their access reinstated under any circumstances.

Shipping to P.O. Boxes and Indirect mailboxes

Fedex does not ship to P.O. Boxes or indirect mailboxes (UPS boxes). Items that weigh more than 5 pounds cannot be shipped to P.O. Boxes.

International Shipping

Shipping outside of the U.S. is only available for kente cloth orders.

We do ship certain items to international U.S. military bases.

We hope to re-introduce international shipping for all items in the future, once we have developed a better infrastructure to be able to handle international demand and logistics.

 

Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii

Due to the long distance from our fulfillment center to Alaska and Hawaii, shipping to these areas are limited and may be charged the same shipping fees as international shipments.
